Should Shirley Sharrod sue the bleep out of blogger Andrew Brietbart?

… for deliberately doctoring the tape to make her appear racist when in fact the opposite was true? She was helping white folks.

Should she also sue Fox "news" for defamation of character for running the piece without checking to see if it was accurate?

Yes. Attorney Norman Goldmann just said on the radio that she should definitely see a lawyer about suing Breitbart. He thinks she has grounds to do it.

"Breitbart told CNN he released the Sherrod video because he believes it shows the NAACP itself tolerates racist behavior within its ranks" — http://johnkingusa.blogs.cnn.com/2010/07/20/breitbart-this-was-not-about-shirley-sherrod/

Based on his own statement, the NAACP should sue him for defamation too.

Nobody should ever believe Breitbart again, but he should be in jail for that.

Let this be a lesson to all Fox viewers that they do NOT check out their stories before broadcasting them and they do NOT always broadcast the truth.

Sue Fox? No. "Moose" and "Billy" (above) are correct; they’ve already won the right to lie and call it news, in a court of law. You’d think that would have told their viewers something, but nooooo.

No. Obama needs to apologize and give her her job back!!

  • Moose O' Lini says:

yes, and yes. however, the faux news has already won the right to lie, cheat, and distort.

  • Ben H says:

She has no grounds to do so. She is a public figure. The same could be done to you if you agreed to speak publicly. I do believe that she MIGHT have been done dirty. If so, then she is owed an apology. I’ll bet that doesn’t get reported, if it is offered.

  • Billy Blaze says:

She probably can’t. Libel laws in the USA give lots of protection to anyone commenting on public figures like Sharrod. Fox News even sued for the "right to lie" in its news reporting, and won.

  • Shamus says:

No, and Fox did not break the story, this is just another lie from the NAACP and the left. MSNBC also had this story on their front page too. Why are they not mentioned??

  • Jesus and Muhammad are Lovers says:

If she has a case then yeah sure.

  • Ercassam Rellik says:

Shirley Sharrod is racist against White farmers.

  • Ancient Thinker says:

    possibly…

  • ROY says:

Yes. He did it with malice and to ruin her reputation and others.
