Is it aliens? Marines? Something else? There is no telling, on this sci-fi action movie. Initially, it appears to be a typical, "Aliens are invading, let's kill 'em all" style of movie. But there might be a little more than meets the eye.

Here's a Battle Los Angeles review and see if it's something you wish to watch...or is just another reason not to go to the shows.

The Movie Begins...

The aliens arrive in ships that at first seem to be meteorites, that turn out splashing down in several spots throughout the world, including Los Angeles. The aliens are hostile, naturally, and they also want what we have (the Earth).

The military, who're sent to exterminate the aliens and get back the city. Marine Personnel Sergeant Michael Nantz (played by Aaron Eckhart) was about prepared to retire when he was sent in action, and has a new platoon to worry about. Not to mention dealing with the Platoon Commander, Second Lieutenant William Martinez (played by Ramon Rodriguez).

The platoon's assignment is to rescue come civilians who're holed up within the LAPD police station. OK, that is bad enough, but they've been given a three-hour window of time to get the people out. Why 3 hours? That is because the Air Force plans to bomb the whole area to kingdom come!

The Rescue Starts

Following the Marines commandeer a bus to go in and rescue the people, they learn some important pieces of info on their opponents. One, the aliens have a soft spot on their torsos, which may be taken advantage of. Next, those alien aircraft are actually just drones, so destroying the craft does not mean destroying the aliens themselves.

However, it does seem to suggest that there is some sort of command center, and if the military can locate it, they could take out a large number of the aliens.

The Plot Continues

Staff Sergeant Nantz leads to command of the platoon while Second Lieutenant Martinez sacrifices himself to save a number of the civilians and kill some bad guys. Nantz and the team think they found the command centre, and contact an air strike. Too late! Their very own command center was taken out by the aliens before they could issue the bombing orders.

It doesn't look good for Nantz and his platoon, the civilians, Los Angeles or even the earth! But wait, will there be heroes present? You betcha; the Marines do not have their reputation for nothing!

Experts and Audiences had different reactions to Battle Los Angeles 2011. The critics? Well, they dumped the film, saying it was just like a hundred other sci-fi alien attack movies. Audiences were a little kinder, but it is safe to say this film aren't going to be a movie classic. In case you are really into sci-fi alien attack movies, then you probably will enjoy Battle Los Angeles. If you are not, then you may would like to pass on this movie.
